Written by Bob Dylan for the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, the Guns N’ Roses started performing the song live in 1987. A studio version was also released in 1990 for the soundtrack of the film Days of Thunder.
With a tempo of 65 bpm, the drums were played by Matt Sorum, best known as the former drummer of Guns N’ Roses. As a member of the band, he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
